I coined the phrase "where there is passion there is fashion" and I can personally account for the passion of cigars, cigar pairing, and spirits (or wine). I started the first line of cigar fashion so that cigar aficionados can dress themselves in tune with cigar culture and created accessories to augment the authenticity of our passion. Bikers have biker gear that will protect them in the event of an accident, boaters have clothing made of lightweight fabric that'll withstand wind and rain, and sports fans have every clothing option to express there love of the sport and/or their favorite team. Now the same can be said of Scottish whisky lovers in the form of sunglasses with wooden frames forged from the very same barrels that once aged Scotch we love to drink.
The barrels play a crucial role in aging the whiskey because of their unique characteristics that allow outside air to seep through and a certain portion of the malt to evaporate (the angels share). In addition the oak barrels also impart flavor and absorb tannins and give our coveted whisky its brown hue. The barrel is as inseparable to the malt as the barley itself and now there is a way to advertise your appreciation with a pair of whisky barrel sunglasses.
