Felix Assouline Ego Cigar Line

By BillieBLVD

The first time I smoked a Felix Assouline cigar I was so taken aback that I immediately contacted him and asked "why have I never heard of you".  In this business it's hard to keep a good cigar a secret and to my surprise Felix had a good answer to the question.

His brand of cigars was primarily featured in France in association with a luxury line of cigar accessories.  Felix's operation is respected because of its vertical integration in that all of the essential aspects of production are controlled in house.  Most cigar makers outsource various aspects of the operation so that they can focus on other areas while also controlling cost.  That's what separates Felix from the competition.  Meticulous control over the production of his passion.

I will be featuring a number of various pairings with Felix's line that will be published via PuroMaduro.com and the PuroMaduroChannel on YouTube.  The first will be published Friday morning 8/12 at 9am.

If you are looking for a complex cigar with balance and unique tastes then look no further.  Visit http://felixassouline.com/ for more information

    Dear BillieBLVD,
As a Sommelier who works in a Cigar lounge, I can appreciate some of your sentiments regarding infused cigars or peach flavored liquor. I feel somewhat the same when a client orders a sweet black Moscato to pair with his cigar at the lounge where I work. However; as a female newbie to cigars, I find it more appealing to have a J DREW Acid brand cigar with a little sweet flavor on the tongue. We all have to start somewhere, and I find it interesting that instead of helping to educate these men, you would rather bash their heads in. As an expert in any field, we have a certain level of responsibility to educate our consumers or fellow cigar or wine drinkers. Who cares if the guy likes smoking infused cigars! Maybe he is new to cigar smoking just like me. We ALL need to learn respect and tolerance for taste just as much as with race, religion, creed and sexual orientation.

    Peace out,
    Vino LVR

    My Dear Vino

I will admit that I state my views unabashed. I am from a place and an era when men were men and real was real. Such a perspective does not play well with the go-along-to-get-along vibe nowadays when just stating how you honestly feel about a product can be expressed as "bashing in" their heads. Look I get it. Why put them down when you can put them on, but that is not my style. The new draconian FDA legislation was fueled by the excessive consumption of flavored cigars primarily of the gas station variety that were greatly consumed by teens and young adults which are not cigar lovers. Really that's what started it. I have always said smoke what you like and I really mean that but I also refuse to hold my tongue. Enjoy your ACID and have your say. Soon you will see the folly of your ways and join in my snobbery.
